Acoustic Guitar Lessons for Adults
Many working adults in Singapore find it hard to find suitable acoustic guitar lessons despite trying out with many music schools. The problem may be as simple as a generation gap. If you grew up enjoying songs from a specific era, you are naturally inclined to want to learn those favorite songs of yours. Those songs you recorded into your own mixtapes, those songs you sent a slow mail to the radio to dedicate it to your friends in school, those songs you know every word by heart.
Straightforward, no examination, goal-oriented.
We get it, we really do. Work-life isn’t always easy and enjoyable, rather mostly stressful and tiring. Going for a guitar class after work only to feel even more stressful isn’t something to look forward to. Though learning the guitar isn’t exactly something easy but teachers at Vinnie Classroom are determined to make everything less stressful. Learning from an actual guitar teacher who has plenty of experience also means that your bad habits will be corrected before they even exist. This is something you can never get from learning through a video or an app. As with any adults, they should know by now that bad habits can be really damaging and hard to kick.
To increase the level of fun, we get students to work directly on their favorite songs. Even if the students eventually will only be able to do a small section of the song, there will be numerous teachable moments through that attempt. At the end of the day, the student takes home a new skill or approach. Over time, the students will accumulate more techniques, abilities, and experiences to tackle their next song. This goal-oriented approach may be the reason why we have many adults from all walks of life taking lessons with us!
While we do send our students for ANZCA and Rockschool music examination, we do not impose this on our students. Especially for adults, taking the exam has to come from their own initiative and desire. We prefer sending our adult students for performance or filming a cool music video!
